MOSHICO COFFEE

Moshico Coffee began with Moshe Ezra: a lifelong tinkerer, food lover, and relentless pursuer of flavour. When Moshe and his wife moved to the Adelaide Hills in 2007, surrounded by producers, winemakers, and foodies, coffee became his obsession. Not as a business idea, but as a personal challenge to satisfy his own palate. In true Moshe fashion, he went all in. He taught himself enough Turkish to negotiate the purchase of a 15kg Has Garanti drum roaster directly from Turkey, and began roasting in his workshop before eventually building a dedicated 'coffee shed' on his property in Ashton.

What followed were years of experimentation, guided by trusted feedback from friends in the wine and hospitality world; including Stephen George (Ashton Hills Vineyard) and Anton van Klopper (Lucy Margaux Wines). The deal was simple: free coffee in exchange for honest criticism. That experimentation became what is now the Moshico Original Blend. Locals started picking up coffee directly from Moshe's letterbox in Ashton, word spread the old-fashioned way, and before long Moshico found its way into cafés and venues across Adelaide and the Hills.

In 2024, Moshe handed the business to his daughter Ella and her partner Cohen who had spent two years roasting under Moshe's guidance, learning not just the technical side, but the philosophy behind it. Ella and Cohen took Moshico online and built a coffee truck, expanding its reach while keeping its Adelaide Hills roots firmly in place. At its core, Moshico is still guided by the same principle it was founded on: let the palate lead. Great coffee doesn't need to be over-explained or dressed up - just honest, approachable, and consistently good.
