Pete’s Pet Food is the exclusive home to The Formula™ - a fresh and healthy raw pet food that uses only local SA produce, and is manufactured on site and sold only via our Mallala store, as well as Mount Pleasant Farmers Markets on Saturday Morning – where we also sell a wide variety of meat, bones, dry food, and treats for your beloved pets.

 

The Formula is a 100% raw pet food that is free of any artificial colours, flavors, or preservatives, and packed full of natural nutrition and healthy goodness! Our Formula is readily available in our store or for order, and we make several different varieties and sizes of The Formula to cater for the wide range of breeds, ages, and lifestyles of our many canine customers.

 

Here at Pete’s Pet Food, we pride ourselves on using the highest quality human grade ingredients available to us, and follow a Biologically Appropriate Raw Feeding (BARF) philosophy which aims to feed dogs a diet that is designed based on raw whole foods, consisting primarily of fresh meat, raw bone, organ meat, and 8 vegetables to create a balanced and healthy diet for your pets. We understand that not all dogs can tolerate a raw diet, and not all owners are comfortable with feeding raw to their pets; with this in mind we also can supply by order a large range of Australian made preservative free dry food/kibble, as well as other treats.

 

WHAT IS BARF?

 

BARF (Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.) is a specialized balanced diet for animals that is high in protein, moderate in fats, and contains many essential nutrients. This diet is based on the feeding of fresh raw foods such as animal protein (meat, bone, and offal.) and vegetables. There are many health benefits to feeding your pets a completely raw food diet, these benefits can include:
